A try was set up against Flamengo 15 minutes into the second half, at Arena da Baixada
Flamengo beat Atlético PR 1-0 and qualified for the Copa do Brasil semi-finals. However, Rio’s Rubro Negro could have won by a bigger score, as Gabigol scored in the second half. However, the VAR called for offside with a “ghost line” and disallowed the attacker’s goal.
The move came in the 15th minute of the second half, after Gabigol received a deep pass from Arascaita. The striker dribbled past goalkeeper Bento and scored for Atlético-BR. However, VAR checked the move and disallowed the No. 10’s goal, after using an “imaginary line” during the review.
Despite the disallowed goal, Flamengo managed to qualify for the semi-finals of the Brazilian Cup. Now, Rubro Negro will face Grêmio, who defeated Bahia 4 to 3 this Wednesday (12), on penalties, for the national knockout. However, before the confrontation, Mais Querido makes a commitment to Brasileirão.
This is because, this Sunday (16), Flamengo faces Fluminense at the Maracanã, in the 15th round of the Brazilian Championship. The match will take place from 4 p.m. (Brasilia time) and, darker than ever, will be broadcast on the internet, on YouTube.
