On Sunday, Vasco had a disastrous start in Porto Alegre, conceding two goals in less than 15 minutes, but reacted and had good chances to equalise, including two strikes on the crossbar and a miraculous save from John, the Colorado goalkeeper.

In contrast to what happened in the defeat suffered by Flamengo, in the second, Mauricio Barbieri praised the team’s performance, despite realizing that the team urgently needed good results.

The two early goals are very conditional. The players showed an important change in attitude. They sought, they were brave, they fought. That ball was over the line. We performed well, but the result was not good. The sequence ends in a very big disappointment.

777 Partners, which controls football at Vasco, follows the team’s momentum and understands that the team must perform better due to the high investment, but there is room for development and this is not the time for changes.

Vasco is betting on the arrival of reinforcements in the window that opens on July 2 to qualify the team that did not respond in the Brazilian championship. The team will continue to play three matches until the window opens, against Goiás (home), Cuiaba (home) and Botafogo (away).
