Orbitals is heavily influenced by classic sci-fi animation, and will have a similar art style that combines 3D worlds with 2D characters.

Developer Shapefarm has released a new trailer for its co-op adventure game Orbitals, this time offering a deeper dive into the gameplay. The trailer, which you can see below, was released during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.

Because working together with a teammate is quite important in Orbitals, players will have access to various weapons and tools, such as Scraphook, which can grab and move platforms to help your friend jump through dangerous holes. On the other hand, the Liquid Launcher can be used to activate the mechanism and even cool the hot surface, which allows the protagonists, Maki and Omura, to create new paths. The Beam Cannon, on the other hand, is a devastating device used to open heat-activated doors and clear obstacles.

The trailer also gave us a look at some of the fun activities that Maki and Omura can take part in, such as discovering and befriending strange and fascinating life forms or hanging out on bases and playing instruments. There will even be an arcade cabinet with its own top-down co-op shooter.

The story of Orbital revolves around the destruction of a research facility and the aftermath of the incident 15 years later. Both Maki and Omura must now travel across the stars to ensure the survival of the research facility and their survival against another cosmic storm.

Orbita is coming this summer exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2. It supports GameShare both locally and over the Internet. To use GameShare with the Switch, it must be activated by a Switch 2 player. It was originally revealed with a trailer in December.
