Yungblud spent the first 10 years of his life believing Rod Stewart was his grandfather - Sir Rod then responded

Yungblud has spoken again about how he grew up believing he was the grandson of Rod Stewart, until he discovered one of his albums in Asda.

Yungblud spoke again about how he grew up thinking he was Rod Stewart's grandson, until he discovered one of the singer's albums in Asda.

The Doncaster singer previously opened up about the story on the UK morning chat show Lorraine, last year.

Now he has spoken about it again in a new interview on The Capital Evening Show with Jimmy Hill.

"That's why my mom and dad never had a dad. He was my grandfather, my old man," she lied to me.

“So up to about nine years old, I thought Rod Stewart was my grandad. Until I was in Asda, right, I was doing the weekly shop with my nan, and I remember by the checkout I picked up a Rod Stewart CD…”

He continued: "It was like a quivering lip, like: 'Nan, when is Grandpa coming home?'" "And everyone in the box started laughing. They started laughing at us, knowing that they had caught my grandmother in a blatant lie! And that was the day I found out that Rod Stewart wasn't my grandpa."

This time, Yungblud also revealed that Stewart has since been in touch with him on Instagram.

“He says, ‘Alright my wee grandson!’ And I was like, ‘Rod Stewart, man. He’s got the bants!’”

Elsewhere, Dom Harrison recently feuded with The Darkness' Justin Hawkins and Dan Hawkins.

The fracas began after the band’s guitarist called Yungblud’s performance paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne with Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt at the MTV VMAs “another nail in the coffin of rock n roll”. He also called Harrison, as well as his fellow performers “a bunch of bellends”.

Justin later commented on YouTube, describing the instagram filter "and adding:" It's like Yungblud."

In response, Harrison described his critics as "bitter and jealous", explaining: "They're doing what they say we're doing - they're trying to insert themselves into a conversation to achieve some kind of relevance, on the back of us honoring one of the greatest rock stars that ever lived - and then they talk about authenticity and things like that."

Justin Hawkins then clarified his comments about Yungblud’s authenticity as a rock star, saying he never “intended to incite a feud” and emphasised that “it’s OK to be a bit sceptical.”

Meanwhile, Harrison recently defended Taylor Swift during an interview with Bill Maher.
