The professor explains that his research projects are linked to the lines of research in two postgraduate programmes.

In the first, in Energy Engineering in Agriculture, engaged in research into biofuels, with research projects in the production of biogas and biomethane from residual biomass of rural origin; Combined use of biogas and photovoltaics in rural areas; bioethanol production from residues from cassava processing; Cultivation of the microalgae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii in effluents and wastewater from pig farming for biodiesel.

Armin holds a degree in animal sciences from Maringa State University (1981), a degree in agronomy from Paraná Federal University (1986), a master’s degree in forest engineering (nature conservation) from the federal university of Parana (1994) and a doctorate in agricultural engineering (energy in Agriculture) from São Paulo State University, Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2001).

He is currently an Associate Professor at Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná and has expertise in agronomy and animal husbandry technologies, with a focus on environment and energy in agriculture, primarily working on the following topics: sustainable rural development, watershed environmental management, biomass energy, and bio-digester, biogas, bio-ethanol and bio-diesel. He is a permanent professor in the Master’s and Doctoral Program in Energy Engineering in Agriculture, since 2010, and in the Master’s and Doctoral Program in Sustainable Rural Development, since 2012.
