Moto G71: Motorola’s affordable premium mid-range phone | Analysis / review
2 min readThe Moto G family keeps growing and now we have it G71 Comes to fill the space between G60 it’s the G100. Is it really necessary to have another Motorola broker with so many company options? Let’s check.
The design is the same as other modern designs from the brand, with the only difference being the metallic paint and colors available in Brazil. While some lower models come with a biometric reader on the side, the G71 still has a fingerprint sensor on the back. The device is made entirely of plastic and is water-resistant.
The OLED display has strong brightness and great colors, but it lacks a refresh rate of just 60Hz. There are much cheaper Motorola phones with a 90Hz screen. The mono sound is also another weak point, it doesn’t come as a surprise in terms of power and it lacks a midrange.
The performance is good thanks to the Snapdragon 695 combined with 6 GB of RAM. The problem is with Motorola’s Android memory manager which cannot keep many apps open in the background. However, in gaming, performance is good with heavy games running on high settings.
The battery lasts a long time with close to 30 hours of autonomy in our benchmark test. The 33W charger may be more slender, but the battery doesn’t take long to recharge. And what about the cameras? Only the main image records good pictures, while the others offer cell phone quality for beginners. 4K camcorder recording failed.
Is it worth buying a Moto G71? It’s a nice phone, but it’s in the wrong category. It is difficult to recommend it against better competitors in the same price range. If you’re still interested, check out the full review at the link below.
