NASA takes a picture of the sun smiling

Os 'olhos' e a 'boca' vistos na imagem são buracos coronais

Satellite National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) recorded an interesting image, in which the sun appears “smiling”. The “eyes” and “mouth” seen in the image are coronal holes – dark, cool regions that allow material from the solar corona to escape into space.

The image was taken on the morning of Tuesday 25th by the Solar Dynamics Observatory. The probe, which NASA sent into space in 2010, aims to study solar activity and its impact on Earth.

When the sun increases its magnetic activity, solar storms occur that can damage communication systems. This phenomenon is also responsible for the formation of the aurora borealis on Earth, which is caused by the interaction between solar wind particles and atmospheric gases.

Beyond the “smiling” sun

in advance this monthNASA has investigated a UFO stuck in a US space agency helicopter used on Mars. A video posted on social media shows a small piece of debris stuck to a part of the plane.

The photos were taken on Ingenuity Flight 33, when the helicopter was exploring the Jazero Crater. The accident shows something similar to a plastic hook in the foot of the plane. NASA has classified the object as “FOD” – short for Debris of Foreign Objects. The term is used in aviation to refer to any foreign particle or substance capable of causing damage to an aircraft.
