What’s new in iOS 15 Beta 4? Safari changes, transitions transitions and so on
2 min readApple today released iOS 15 Beta 4 and iPadOS 15 Beta 4 to developers. Updates include constant changes to the controversial Safari redesign, new widget options for podcasts on the iPodos home screen, and more. Scroll down as we round out all the changes in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 Beta 4.
iOS 15 Beta 4 has a build number of 19A5307g. Developers can update from beta 3 via the Settings app. Open the Settings app, select General, and select Software Update. If you do not see iOS 15 Beta 4 immediately, check that the update is still out.
iOS 15 is also available to public beta users, but no new beta has been released for those users this week. The next iOS 15 public beta creation may be released later today or tomorrow, but next week’s release is not in question.

What’s new in iOS 15 Beta 4?
- Safari on the iPados 15 Beta 4 includes a number of changes, including a new design similar to the one that came with the MacOS Montessori Beta 3 two weeks ago.
- iOS 15 Beta 4 includes several changes to Safari:
- The share button is now in the tab bar
- The reload button is next to the URL and will not be hidden behind long presses
- When you tap a website the tab bar drops it when it comes your way
- Long press on the URL bar to find the option to “Show bookmarks”
- New option to “share focus status” with personal contacts
- New Icon for “Smart Rotate” when adding a widget layer on your home screen
- Perfect support for Maxafe battery pack on iPhone 12
- New “Back to Home Screen” function for shortcuts
- New XL widget size option for podcasts on iPod
- New icon for notifications in the Settings app, as well as an option to disable notification when screen sharing or screen reflection.
- The camera icon on the lock screen has been changed to remove the shutter button
