Anderson Moreira shakes off good Botafogo stage but calls for caution: 'Pace on the floor' | Good friends!

Coach Anderson Moreira was the guest on “Bem, Amigos!” This Monday, on SportTV. In a major stint in the leadership of Botafogo, which is in the classification zone in the Brazilian second division, the coach made sure to be careful and keep his feet on the ground when it came to arrival.

It was a pleasure to see this business being developed with such dedication and awareness that we are in the middle of a journey. Everything that happened was wonderful. But we need to stay grounded. Keep working hard. The difficulties will be greater. Getting to the G-4 is very difficult. Keeping up (in G-4), the difficulty is much greater. We have to keep working knowing that not all is well, there is still a lot to improve.

Anderson Moreira made his Botafogo debut in the 14th round. Since then, there have been nine victories, one draw and one defeat. Of those 11 matches, the team left eight without conceding a goal.

– There is no magic. I was very surprised that Botafogo was organized. I have a very different idea. I thought that Botafogo, because of the difficult situation, from a financial point of view, would have a club without minimum conditions to provide a good job. On the contrary. Botafogo has proven to be highly organized due to its financial limitations. It is a club that knows very well what it wants. And Botafogo, with each passing day, I realize the desire to implement what we train.

The development with Anderson saw the team rise to the League Two table, and before it moved away from the G-4, the team is currently third, four points behind the first team outside the access zone. The difference is the same for the leader Curitiba. The coach praised Chai as one of the highlights of the campaign.

Football is very democratic and surprising. Sometimes we have 16-17 year olds who are incredibly mature. There are athletes who will gain that maturity with a much longer time, 23 or 24 years. This often causes athletes to seek other paths, which is a new possibility. Chai played seven-man soccer, a player who seems to have been in the club for a long time, and has been growing with each match. This has been very positive.

Anderson also commented on the return of goalkeeper Gattito, who is recovering from injury.

– Gattito is very close (to go back). I don’t know the exact date, but he was working with the ball and getting better every day. I don’t want to create expectations for the fans either. He’s very present in the process, he’s been following the cast. It’s a reference, and we need those references.

In conclusion, the coach also spoke about Botafogo’s performance in the market, and highlighted the employment of Rafael and Fernando’s possible arrival.

– Rafael is a player above any discussion. A period in the world of football with a lot of fame. We know he is a player who will help us a lot with this desire to wear this shirt, to fulfill his and his family’s dream. As for Fernando, it could be an opportunity. He’s a suspended player, he won’t be this season. Thought is forward position. And it can be very useful.

Botafogo will enter the stadium next Saturday, at 4:30 pm, at Nelton Santos Stadium, to face Nautico, in the 24th round of the Brazilian Championship.
