On April 17, a fireball was launched into the sky of Canada. The phenomenon, which occurred at 11:37 a.m. local time, is believed to have left a trail of meteorites along the way, some of which fell in an area near Lake Simcoe, Ontario.

This phenomenon was captured by the network of cameras in the Department of Physics and Astrology at Western University. As expert Dennis Vida said in a statement, the fireball was “particularly important because it moved slowly, being in the orbit of an asteroid and eventually becoming very low in the atmosphere.”

The meteorite expert explains that the observed features are “good indicators” that material from the fireball has survived. “We would expect there to be tens to hundreds of grams of material in the soil,” Denis Vida says.

It is reported that in December last year, the Andalus Institute for Astrophysics (IAA-CSIC) managed to catch Through the SMART project, the passage of a fireball in the sky south of Portugal and Spain, caused by the entry of a meteorite into the Earth’s atmosphere, at a speed of about 100 thousand kilometers per hour.

in november 2020, A similar phenomenon was detected by the SMART project. The fireball, which traveled across the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, was seen at a speed of 227,000 kilometers per hour, and you can remember its passage in the video below.
