Mago Coutinho: Thank you Bruno and Giovanna for being here with us this Sunday (31), that day, I imagine, is difficult for you and your children. I would like to know what happened on Saturday afternoon (30), there in Portugal?
Bruno Gagliasu: We went to a famous restaurant which is on the beach.
Giovanna Eubank: In fact, it is a restaurant that we really like to go to, because we always find many black people in the restaurant. For our kids, we think it’s very important to be in environments with black people.
Bruno: They were playing on the beach, and suddenly one of the children came and told us what had happened. And then we got upset, and really upset. And I started… and I saw those pictures.
She told Giovanna what had happened and reproduced what she had heard.
Giovanna: The woman was saying many things. Among them he says, “You filthy niggers,” “Go back to Africa.”
Bruno: “Portugal It’s not the place for you, get out of here.”
Giovanna: I don’t think she ever expected a white woman to fight her like she did, like that. I know that as a white woman, by going there to meet her, my words will be validated. I will not go out with the crazy, the angry, as with many other black mothers, who are lionesses every day, just like I was in this episode.
Bruno: What would have happened if we were black, my wife?
Giovanna: Would I get that much attention if we were black parents to black kids?
a Nice I posed these questions to Karla Akuterin, who has a Ph.D. in Gender, Women’s and Feminist Studies at UFBA. explain it “Every day, black men and black women, who are heads of families, try to defend their children and yet they are criminals.”

Giovanna: You changed everything, Magoo. Today I am a woman who is fully aware of my privileges, I am a woman who is always surrounded by other black women, I learn daily. I will do justice to the White Privilege and fight head-on.
