1 min readAngels – Anthony Davis The Los Angeles Lakers gave up two stars – plus, they were relegated from the second half of the loss to 118-94 La Clippers on Thursday night. LeBron James – They have just returned from a long injury, only to return quickly with the regular season.
Davis, who has been playing his eighth game since missing nine weeks due to a calf injury and Achilles tendinosis in his right leg, played nine minutes in the first quarter and scored four points in a 2-to-9 shootout. Davis smashed the Clippers lockers by 10 while on the court.
Davis left the game with 2 minutes and 50 seconds left in the first quarter and did not return. He was evaluated by team medical staff in the second quarter before the team announced he would not return as soon as the third quarter began.
The Lakers led the Portland Trail Blazers in 7th place by half, keeping the defensive players short of a play-off situation if the regular season ends today. The Lakers will push the Blazers back on Friday night for a second.
James played in two games last week after returning from a right right ankle sprain before having to retire from the last two games to continue his rehab. Lakers coach Frank Vogel said the James Blazers would at least miss the game as well.
