The Lakers led the Portland Trail Blazers in 7th place by half, keeping the defensive players short of a play-off situation if the regular season ends today. The Lakers will push the Blazers back on Friday night for a second.
James played in two games last week after returning from a right right ankle sprain before having to retire from the last two games to continue his rehab. Lakers coach Frank Vogel said the James Blazers would at least miss the game as well.
