2 min readMauricio Sousa, better known as Mauricino, is outside Flamengo. The coach who began preparations for the team that will compete in the first rounds of the Carioca Championships, was dismissed on Monday, the same day Paulo Sousa was introduced as the new captain of the main team.
Fabio Matthias, the under-20 coach who has led the team in the first two rounds of the São Paulo Junior Soccer Cup, will take over the team that will start the state championship. Fabio will leave Sao Paulo on Monday for Rio to train and prepare for the team that will make their debut in Carioca against Portuguesa on the 26th.
Mario Jorge, Under-17 coach, replaces Fabio Matthias in Copeña. Incidentally, Flamengo, already seeded, ends their participation in the first stage on Tuesday, 21:45 (Brasilia time), against Oeste.

Via Instagram, Mauricio Sousa confirmed his departure with a message of thanks to fans and revealed a special affection for some of his accomplishments as an assistant to the Standing Committee. Read below:
“Today I would like to bid farewell to Clube de Regatas do Flamengoflamengo, so grateful for all the opportunities I had. I made so much commitment, sweat, work and so many accomplishments. The Sao Paulo Cup, Brazil and the Super Cup will be with me forever with great passion among other accomplishments. I also thank all the athletes who have worked so much together and always respected me. Gratitude above all, God is in control. Now is the time to turn the key and focus on the future. It will work, thank you nation for love forever!!!”
