PlayStation VR 2 for PS5 revealed with exclusive Horizon

Sony took advantage of the Consumer Electronic Show, CES, this Tuesday (4) to reveal its new virtual reality device.

The PlayStation VR 2 or PS VR2 will feature an OLED display with 4K HDR resolution and a frame rate of up to 120Hz.

New consoles were also revealed, which will replace the PlayStation Move consoles from the first version.

It’s called PS VR2 Sense Controllers, and it will have the same functions as DualSense, which is a controller PS5, such as tactile feedback and adaptive stimuli.

The PS VR2’s connection will also be simpler, according to Sony, with just one cable connecting the device to the PS5.

Despite all this information, few pictures of the headset and controls have been shown, and its launch date has not been announced.

The first PlayStation VR was released in 2016 for PS4, and it proved to be a success with over 5 million units sold by 2019.

Horizon V R

As for gaming, the first PS VR2 exclusive has also been revealed: Horizon VR – Call of the Mountain.

The new game will feature a new hero, but it has already been confirmed that Eloy and other characters from Horizon Zero Dawn will also appear during the flight.

A release date for Horizon: Call of the Mountain has not been revealed.
