The Pokémon Company introduces a new addition to the Pokémon Series World Championship circuit. For the first time, the mobile game Pokémon GO will win an official World Championship, and it will be added in 2022 alongside Pokémon Sword & Shield, Pokkén Tournament, and the series’ official card game in Play! Pokemon Championship Series.

The information was revealed by Pokemon social networks last Tuesday (5). The event will see Pokémon GO with many head-to-head experiences throughout the year, and players who reached Legend rank in early 2022 will be able to register before anyone else.

The competition format will be the classic PvP that debuted in recent years in Pokémon GO, open in two age categories: Senior (born between 2006 and 2009) and Masters (born in 2005 or earlier).

However, neither Niantic nor the Pokémon Company has yet confirmed whether Brazilian players will be attending regional events in Latin America to attend – something to be revealed at a later time.
