Oleksiy Aristovich, Advisor to the Presidential Office of Ukraineon Wednesday, 26, that the “heaviest battles of the war” are imminent, in what will be the dispute over control of a strategic city Kherson.

Kherson was the first city to fall into the hands of Russia and the largest under its control. Local authorities, set up by Moscow, warned of a Ukraine’s impending bid to restore the provincial capital and He ordered civilians to leave Kherson.
Kyiv says administrative services and financial institutions were removed from the city with the Russian army’s offensive.
“With Kherson, everything is clear. They are resupplying and strengthening the gathering there. No one will give up. They are moving their soldiers with the complete intention of defeating us,” added Aristovich.
The southern Kherson region is a crucial front in the war, and in recent weeks a Ukrainian counterattack has launched a route west of the Dnipro River into the region.
On Wednesday, the Ukrainian government said its forces were maintaining their line of defense in the south despite “carrying out some offensive actions” in the direction of Kherson.
Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar told Ukrainian television that “there are ongoing battles” in the area.
“The General Staff organizes defensive operations through which some offensive actions are carried out,” Maliar said. “But you can see from the news that over the past week, events on the front lines have subsided a little bit and we’re actually on an active defense.”
