Workers reported delays to government FGTS bulletins

Some formal workers claim that they have not yet been able to receive money from the Time-to-Service Guarantee (FGTS) fund issued by the federal government since last April 20. At that time, only people born in January were released.

Caixa Econômica Federal is the bank that pays the extraordinary balance. The organization explains that FGTS transfers are always made according to each user’s birthday month. There is a spacing that can vary from seven to 10 days, so those born in January receive on April 20th, and those born in February should only receive on the 30th of this month.

The Bank also states that it is generally not necessary to make any application for relief funds. However, there are cases when a citizen needs to submit a filing application. Caixa believes that delays for at least part of these users may be due to the lack of this request.

A worker born in January can check whether or not he needs to request benefit money without leaving home. To do this, simply check the basic information in the FGTS application itself. The app is available for download on Android and iOS mobile phones. There is no fee to download the app.

What does the bank say?

If you requested the balance and it has not yet appeared in the account, the situation will be different. Caixa explained that delays can occur for a number of reasons. One of them is the delay in the application system itself.

According to the bank, “a minimum period of time is required for operational procedures after the worker completes registration and submits an exceptional withdrawal request.” The bank did not specify the length of the minimum term.

Caixa also said that workers who did not have a balance in their accounts on the due date for payment, may have a fresh attempt at release on subsequent dates of the same calendar issued by the federal government.

FGTS Extraordinary

As said, the extraordinary FGTS payments officially began last Wednesday (20) for users born in January. Official information recognizes that just over 3.9 million people can now implement the movement.

For the first batch, Caixa issued just over R$2.7 billion. The value is the highest expected value of the 12 versions that are planned to occur. Another 2.2 billion R$ will be issued on Saturday (30th) for those born in February.
