The design of the 12S Ultra is distinctive and resembles cameras with its leather texture, unlike the predecessor which had a secondary camera on the back to serve as a guide for selfies. The front end continues with curved sides, but the selfie camera hole has been moved to the middle.

The screen of the new flagship of Xiaomi has strong brightness with a 120Hz second-generation LTPO panel, which reduces the speed to up to 1Hz to save battery. There is support for Dolby Vision and reproduction of up to 1 billion colors. The audio part at the expense of dual speakers enhanced by Harman / Kardon with Dolby Atmos support with powerful, high-quality sound.

On the hardware side, we have the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 with 12GB of RAM, plus another 3GB of storage stolen for better multitasking. Chinese top excels in speed and enables to keep apps open in the background very well. Every game we tested ran without difficulty and doesn’t heat up easily.

The battery lasts well and managed to outperform the predecessor in our benchmark test, despite lower capacity in the new test. Recharging time is faster than the advanced models from Apple and Samsung, but Xiaomi has other phones that support faster charging.

Then we have the camera. The 12S Ultra is the first Xiaomi phone with a 1-inch sensor, but it’s not the first manufacturer to achieve such a feat. It takes clear pictures with good color and works well even in the darkest places. Other cameras do not make progress compared to previous cameras, only the zoom records clearer pictures. The front end is developed and better selfies are taken, while the video camera records in good quality; It could just be better audio capture.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra can be imported for about 5 thousand RRL in a direct transfer and without taxes. Is it all worth it? Undoubtedly, it is the best Xiaomi cell phone at the moment and can compete head-to-head with Edge 30 Ultra And the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but the cost and benefit can be complicated depending on the total expense you’ll have when importing it.
