Zelensky asks Putin to meet to end war
1 min readVolodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, requested a meeting, on Saturday (23), with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in order to “end the war”. The announcement was made during a press conference at a metro station in central Kyiv, broadcast by CNN International.
On the verge of completing two months of conflict, the Ukrainian president again called for an end to the war and argued about the importance of the meeting for this outcome, because, in his opinion, “whoever started the war will be able to end the war” . “We have a diplomatic way to do it and a military way. Any reasonable person would choose the diplomatic way,” Zelensky said.
Zelensky also said he was not afraid of his rival, Vladimir Putin. And he repeated, “I have no right to be afraid, because my people have shown that they are not afraid of anything.”
