The Los Angeles Dodgers won back-to-back championships by narrowly defeating the Toronto Blue Jays, who made their first World Series appearance in 32 years.The complete seven-game average recorded a total of 34.0 million viewers across the United States, Canada and Japan, which captured the largest audience for the World Series since 1992 and an increase of +19% over the previous year.
With Canada as the overall home market for both competing clubs, the seven-game World Series drew 24.3 million viewers in the US and Canada, the largest audience from these two countries since 2016 and a +46% increase from last year.
With average audiences from Canada and Japan, it has created the largest international audience in the world in 2025*.
US viewership ratings
In the US, the full seven-game World Series averaged 16.1 million viewers across FOX, FOX Deportes, Univision (game one only), FOX Sports App and FOX One, making it the most-watched fall classic in the US since 2017. Gr 1's global audience of less than 1% continues to grow.The Fall Classic's viewership made it the most-watched World Series for this age group since 2017. Additionally, several World Series network programs saw viewership increases in 2024, including Central (+36%), Intentional Talk (+34%) and Tonight: The National Pregame Show (+44%).
In Japan, even at 9 A.M.Local start time, game six averaged 13.1 million viewers on NHK-G watching the Work-G game on the only network in Japan.Seven games averaged 12.0 million viewers on NHK-Bs.(Last year, the World Series games were televised in Japan.) The average audience for game seven in Japan was 9.7 million viewers.
In Canada, Game Seven averaged 11.6 million viewers, including French-language television partners SportNet and TVA Sports in Canada.The game was the most-watched English-language broadcast on record in Canada outside of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.Sportsnet, Sportsnet+ and CTTV also recorded the most-watched Rodgers broadcast of all time.The series averaged 8.1 million viewers.
The 2025 World Series presented by Capital One was broadcast by 44 media partners in 203 countries and territories in 16 languages.The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers combined 13 players of international origin from eight different countries and territories, including Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Korea and Venezuela.
