One of the Dutch soldiers shot dead by American gunfire

uMee, one of three Dutch soldiers shot dead after Saturday’s shooting in Indianapolis, USA, died of his injuries. Tells ReutersIt cites the Dutch Ministry of Defence.

The soldier “succumbed to his injuries last night surrounded by family and colleagues,” the ministry said in a statement. Associated Press. His identity has not yet been released.

Two other players, according to the same source, are stable, though they are still hospitalized. No further details have been released about the incident.

As previously reported by the Associated PressThe incident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday (8:30 a.m. in mainland Portugal) in the city’s nightlife area.

The three soldiers involved with gunshot wounds were later taken to hospital units where they were given necessary medical treatment.

As initially explained by the aforementioned ministry, the three soldiers were part of the Dutch commando corps and were in the United States to participate in training exercises. According to the same security guard, the incident happened during his free time.

Local authorities, who are continuing to investigate what happened, believe that the cause of the incident was a disagreement between the victims and other people.

No arrests have been made so far, the Associated Press reported.
