KDE Plasma 6.5.4 now marks the fourth maintenance update of the KDE Plasma series with a record-high number of fixes.
Today, the KDE Project released KDE Plasma 6.5.4, the fourth maintenance update for the latest series of KDE Plasma 6.5 desktop environments, with further improvements and bug fixes.
Three weeks after KDE Plasma 6.5.3, the KDE Plasma 6.5.4 update looks like a bugfix release that only addresses a menu size regression that was accidentally carried over to Plasma 6.5.3 and a Plasma 6 regression that broke the ability to expand active items via a popup on the system keyboard.
KDE Plasma 6.5.4 fixes another regression, this time caused by a change in QT time that causes the configuration dialog to appear when the configuration window is closed.Speaking of the board's actions menu, this release also fixes a memory leak.
The queen scale effect has been updated in KDE Plasma 6.5.4 to update after its current scale level, after login rather than after change, it does not prevent system, queen crash or power loss.
Also stabilized are bugs that could cause the plasma panel's regular size selector to appear on the wrong screen in multi-screen sets, a bug that could cause the clipboard to be sent several times when the program is installed in an app that uses the portal, and a bug that could cause clipboard cut images to be pasted as Dolphin file manager.
Additionally, KDE Blood 6.5.4 fixes an issue that causes stylus communication and makes your monitor hardware black when connected directly to analog VGA.
The list of fixes is endless for visual glitches in the mouse tracking effect when using a high DPI scaling factor, fixes for certain level issues, and critical battery out.
In addition, KDE Plasma fixed a bug that caused a list of text messages representing task manager protection to fail, and an issue that made the photographer menu item unreliable for specific applications.
Also fixed a crash in the Plasma Discover package manager when auto-updates are turned on, while the Drawing Board page in System Preferences has been improved to better handle strange boards that say they have two pencils when they actually only have one.
Last but not least, KD Plasma 6.4 Fixed an issue where the wrong plasma was drawn when the printer was low on ink.
