– We know we can play better than that, but there is no easy game in the World Cup. I believe that after a good game one should come back strong against any opponent. But the opponent was well organised, and we have to respect that – scored 9.

Kane, who was the top scorer at the 2018 World Cup, is yet to score in this tournament. On his debut, the number 9 provided two assists but was void when it came to goals. Additionally, his validity in the second round was in doubt as he faced a strong entry from Iranian Bularikanji. Striker Khalifa limped off the international stage with an ankle brace, but the following day he underwent imaging tests which revealed no injury.
